Water Tank Repair

Pressure tanks take the load off your well pump. We service, repair, and replace residential water tanks and pressure tanks across the Piedmont Triad to keep your system running smoothly.

Water Tank Repair

A waterlogged tank or a failed bladder is the most common cause of a pump that cycles on and off every flush. We check tank pre-charge, replace bladders where possible, and install correctly-sized new tanks when it is time. The right tank size protects the pump and stabilizes pressure throughout the house.

How the repair works

  1. Step 1

    Free phone diagnosis

We ask about pump cycling, pressure swings, and tank age to confirm the tank is the real issue, not the pump.

  2. Step 2

    On-site test

We measure tank pre-charge with the system off and check pressure switch cut-in/cut-out settings against tank rating.

  3. Step 3

    Written estimate

You see the recommended scope, service vs. replacement and correct tank size for your pump and home, in writing before work starts.

  4. Step 4

    Service or replace

If the bladder is intact, we re-charge to spec. If the bladder has failed, we install a new tank, tank tee, gauge, and pressure switch.

  5. Step 5

    System test

We cycle the pump multiple times and verify smooth pressure between cut-in and cut-out before we leave.

  6. Step 6

    Warranty and follow-up

Tank manufacturer warranty plus our labor warranty. Pre-charge service is quick, call before a waterlogged tank takes out your pump.

Frequently asked questions

How long do pressure tanks last?

Modern bladder pressure tanks typically last 5–10 years. Tanks that lose air charge frequently, or that are undersized for the pump, fail sooner.

Why is my pump cycling on and off so often?

Short-cycling is almost always a pressure tank that has lost its air charge or whose bladder has failed. Replacing or recharging the tank usually fixes it and prevents premature pump failure.

Can the bladder in a pressure tank be replaced?

On most modern residential bladder tanks, no, the bladder is sealed inside and the tank must be replaced. We will tell you honestly whether yours is a service or a replacement.

What size pressure tank do I need?

Tank size should match pump output and household draw. A bigger tank means fewer pump starts and longer pump life. We size based on your pump's GPM and your home's fixture count.

Do you service Well-X-Trol and Amtrol tanks?

Yes. We install and service Well-X-Trol, Amtrol, Flexcon, Goulds, Sta-Rite, Pentair, and Wessels pressure tanks.

Can you replace a galvanized tank with a modern bladder tank?

Yes, and we recommend it. Galvanized tanks waterlog frequently and corrode from the inside. A modern bladder tank cycles the pump far less and lasts longer.
